F-Tag F323: Accidents and Supervision

Medicare certified skilled nursing facilities should be aware that CMS has released an advanced copy of the new F tag regarding incidents and accidents. The previous F tags F323 and F324 are now merged into one that encompasses many key points from the original tags but also adds additional information regarding regulatory expectations. Although HCRMS feels it is very important that each provider receiving Medicare reimbursement read the new F tag in its entirety we have also provided our members with a "key point" summary of the tag (see link below). Please review the summary and share it with your team of caregivers. We also recommend you go to the CMS website to review the tag in its entirety.
